Black Tail eating Apples

Saturday Michael came over and hung out with me and Trenton for a bit. After a long deep options talk with Trenton Michael noticed a black tail in the back yard eating apples. We watched the deer for a bit then we decided that we’d see how close we could get. Michael and Trenton came across the lawn and I came down from the drive way. We got within 15 feet of the deer before it took off into the neighbor’s yard and then vanished. I’d guess the deer was about 300 pounds or so, being as it was bigger than me.

Once while hiking in southeastern Virginia wilderness I was actually able to pet a deer. Not sure why it wasn’t afraid of humans but later found out the area has an estimated 15-20 visitors/year and hunting was prohibited so that may have contributed.

Oops, it was actually south*western* Virginia, down near TN. Big difference in the two areas. :)
