Commute Maths

When we move to the property I’m looking at a much more longer commute to work. I looked at public transit options – not going to work due to time. The connector buses, Microsoft direct route busses, don’t run at all during my work window, so they are out. The connectors are only 40 minutes from the ferry to the office and would make things doable. The follow are the break downs of the possible methods of travel from our address on Aqua Lane to my office in building 3:

  • Drive all the way || 1 hour and 2 minutes. 60 miles. 2 gallons plus the 4$ one way bridge toll = 10$ there and 6$ home. 16$ round trip
  • Drive via the ferry || 20 minutes. 11 miles to the ferry. 40 minute ferry ride. 23 miles from the ferry to work, 35 minutes. Total of 1 hour and 35 minutes and 55 miles.  2 gallons of gas plus the 8$ ferry charge = 16$ there and 16$ home. 32$ round trip
  • Drive to the ferry and Bus to work || 20 minutes and 11 miles to the ferry. 40 minute ferry ride. 1 hour and 40 minute bus ride to the work bus center. 10 minute walk or bus ride to my office. Total of 2 hours and 50 minutes. 1 gallon of gas plus the 4$ one way ferry fee and free bus = 7$ there and 3$ home. 10$ round trip

Below is a rough representation of my commute from home to work if it was being driven by Goofy.
